6/30/04 Okay, so we got into a little trouble...and Dad was a little mad. But all he did was send Mom pictures saying "look what YOUR dogs did!" We can live with that :-) But we still don't understand WHY Dad wouldn't let us in the house!
6/3/04 Cheyenne and Dakota are doing just great in their forever home. Here are some new pics of them enjoying the good life :-)
2/1/04 Booger's blood work (on 1/28/04) showed her to be much less anemic (almost normal range).
Booger (now Cheyenne), along with her brother, Lance (now Dakota), went to their new forever home! Luanna and Mark drove from Rosamond, CA, along with Mimi (Aussie mix) and Scooter (Mini Aussie) to meet Lance and Booger. (A special thanks to Bonnie (STAAR) for doing the homecheck in CA for us). As you can see from the pictures below, all went well! Magnus enjoyed meeting everyone too, and he is still available for adoption. Check back for new pics and updates!
1/21/04 All of Booger's bloodwork has come back negative and her pain appears to be completely gone. She is playing and eating as though nothing ever happened :-) Booger will have another blood panel done next week to test her anemia and make sure everything is fine. If all goes well, Booger and Lance will be going to their new home on January 31st. Thanks for all your concern (and donations) about Booger!...and check back for updates.

Booger (and Lance) were all set to go to their new home on Saturday, January 18, 2004. However, on Thursday, January 14, 2004, Booger started her morning out with a great breakfast, but ended her day at Power Road Animal Hospital. After breakfast, she normally joins her siblings in a little playtime outside, but this morning, she sat at the door crying. When her foster mom picked her up to bring her inside, she was screaming in pain...she could not be touched anywhere. She was examined and no source of pain could be found. Her blood panel showed her to be a little anemic, but nothing serious. Booger was given a shot of morphine for pain and an injection of an anti-inflammatory drug. Kelly took her home for the night and returned to Power Road the following day. Her pain seemed to have eased some, but she was still sore to the touch. More blood was taken for additional tests (we are still awaiting the results) and she was sent home with more pain medication. Depending on her condition and the results of testing, X-rays of her bones will be the next step.
Booger's pain has decreased, but we are still very much concerned about her condition. Booger's adoptive parents are still very much interested in her and are anxiously awaiting details. She will not be going anywhere until we know something definite. To date, her vet care costs are over $300, and additional testing and treatment are inevitable.

11/27/03 (Update from foster home) We thought of an additional name for Booger today...Dora the Explorer. She loves to explore nooks and crannies and get her nose in places it probably would be better if she didn't :-). Booger LOVES water!!! She is always getting in the water bowl in the kitchen and making a HUGE mess. She prefers to be inside. She does her potty business and then comes to the door and knocks to come in. She also likes to chew cabinets, maybe something you may not want to share. (We decided it was best to share this last bit of info because she is a typical puppy and chewing is a major part of puppy hood...so be warned!)
11/18/03 Booger is a Lethal White Blue Merle female born on October 16, 2003. She is deaf and visually impaired to some degree, but she gets around quite well. She, along with her siblings, had her very first vet visit today. Booger weighs 5.3 lbs. and is a very healthy young pup. She has been bottle fed since she was 1 day old. She will receive her first booster vaccination on 11/27 and her next two boosters will be given in 3-week increments. Before going to her forever home, she will be spayed and current on vaccinations. Booger will be available for adoption after January 16, 2004.
Enjoy some pics taken at the Vet's office today!
